Well, the reason of my question was to understand the purpose of your answers, I had a question but felt I was on the wrong place based on your replies... I just recently purchased a subscription and it's a bit disappointing to find this kind of support via forums from a member of the company.
I would take advantage of this note to cover two things:
1. Ask for less attitude on your part and more perspective on the reason of one's question.
Yes, I'm part of gavick team as can be seen on status under my nickname.
Well, the fact that you are a moderator in a forum does not necessarily equates to being an employee of a company. So you are wrong assuming that I should have know you were part of Gavick's team based on your account status. Using your logic, do your homework; you will find plenty of examples online that sustain my point...
With that said, as you probably noted already; I am very surprised with the quality of your answers. I would also be surprised if this company does not care about its customers and does not care about the quality of attention given by people supporting its products. Why do I say that?, well that's my next point.
2. If your job is to provide support via forums, I suggest putting yourself in your customer's shoes
Ladybug appeared to have similar questions to those I had right after I downloaded one of your templates a few days ago. I am fairly new to joomla and web site development (not to product/software/hardware development) but unlike other templates that I tested which allowed for a very easy installation and configuration; yours was not up to par in terms of product usability based on the claims in your main website.
My expectation was that of an intuitive, easy to install and configure template. Easy to install and configure, meaning at least at the level of other templates I found online with the same claim! Ladybug asked you a very valid question
I did but i don't know to proceed....where to open configuration for joomla...
this is what botheres me: "Open your browser at the address/directory where you will perform the installation."
I also had some pause when I read the same instructions on your
quickstart installation guide. I understood what the document meant but it's very poorly written... Explaining something as simple as
this paragraph means, open a window in your browser, then type your website's address (domain name). This will launch the joomla installer which will guide you through the next steps of installation. Also, If your site is located on a subdirectory under the public directory in your web server, then you should add that folder name '/foldername' to the address you are using.' Or, simply point to a link where web server folder structure, joomla & web site installation, domain names, website config files are explained... there are plenty out there and that would have been helpful...
In short: I understand how frustrating it can be to answer the same questions all the time, very simple for one that knows but you need to understand some of us are just starting. If you don't care about that, care about the fact that you are the face of Gavickpro in the forums and being helpful is very important for your business... You do not need to know a specific setup in order to provide general guidance of what is needed and that is a requirement to be able to install your templates.
1. Take initiative and create a document that clearly outlines the a, b, c of what is needed to install your templates. Simple with snapshots and detailed steps. In other words, improve upon the quick-install you already have. Then you will only need to point customers to that document.
2. Your answers were not helpful, instead borderline disrespectful. Ladybug was looking for help on installing your template not joomla, your package requires a 'manual' installation of joomla, something web hosting providers usually automate for customers, so it's fair to think not everyone would be acquainted with this process. Simple, yes very much so once you understand what it is... If you don't want rookie customers using your templates you should be very clear upfront in your website and the support you will provide.
