Hi everybody

I tried to add a second language to my website with the gk-restaurant template. I setup everything in the backend and it seems to look allright with the langauge flags in the menu overview. I can change the language in the frontend as well without problems.

I thought to publish the language specific mainmenues I just need to create a module and publish it for each language on the position "mainmenu". But nothing happens, I can't see the menues at all (I turned the option off in the template settings to NOT show the template menu).

Any help would be appreciated. I use Joomla 2.5.9...

Kind regards,

You don't need special menu position to have multilnaguage site, please just look what recommend Joomla! documentation here >> http://docs.joomla.org/Language_Switcher_Tutorial_for_Joomla_1.6 or check our tutorial for multilanguage site >> https://www.gavick.com/documentation/questions/configuration-multilanguage-site-with-joomla-1-7/

Thanks for your reply. I think the problem is not the multi-language configuration but that I can only choose one template menu in the template configuration. Or do I have to copy the template and assign it to the language specific contents? Sorry but I don't really understand how to manage this.

Actual config: http://hartmann-neuhausen.ch.valerius.ch-meta.net/images/menu.jpg

You can copy template and assign it for different langauge but easier is to include all menu items for all languages to one menu and then when you properly configure the language swticher you will see only items set for active language.
