Different Menu on different pages

Need a little guidance please. We are trying to add different menus to separate pages with no avail. we have followed both Joomla and several other suggestions from forum. Example, one of the main menu items on the home page is a drop down menu with several sub links; Team 1, Team 2, Team 3 etc. linked to a category. when you click on on of the links, it will take you to a new category home page. On each category page, we are tying to put a different menu but it is not working and can not get it to work. Please help

Hi,
there is at least one option - you have to use template clones (copies) and on each select different menu.

Do you have a link to a document that shows how to clone a template and assign a different menu to it? I looked and could not find anything. Thank you.

No, I don't, because this is default Joomla skill. You will find it in almost each book about Joomla also in old ones. Besides YouTube still works ....
