Quickstart plus my existing data

I just updated my Joomla 1.5 site to 2.5.6 using JUpgrade. The whole purpose of my upgrade was to use the League News template.

I choose to just upload the LN template files.

Here is my question: Is it possible to install a version of LN with the module positions and everything else set like the demo while keeping all my existing "old" site stuff? All I really need to keep is the K2 articles.

Then I can just use the LN demo site and reconnect stuff.

I don't mind if the sample data is also installed as long as all the other stuff from my existing site remains.

No, because quickstart package is similar to Joomla! installation - it has own database import which drop or backup old tables. My advise is to try import K2 items via phpmyadmin after installation.
