OK...

back again to this website:

www.americanfootballfilms.org

1. After when I add/upload an image to an article item (from my computer or server); the site still shows the GK Demo background. BUT when I double click on that GK Demo background, it then shows me the photo that I want...the photo that has been added/uploaded. So then, why doesn't this photo show properly in the article item and/or the slide show...PLEASE!!!

Delete the contents of following folder, basically module is using cached images in following location.

Code: Select all
modules/mod_image_show_gk4/cache/demo.is_demogk-is-346.png
modules/mod_image_show_gk4/cache/

Hi Norman, and thank you very much. Unfortunately, the newbie that I am, I don't know where look (in the back end) for the "folder" in which to delete the contents. In my case, I have K2 Quick Icon folders and also Quick Icons (Joomla 2.5). I don't see any sub folders of these sections that remotely resemble what I believe you are describing. Under Extension Manager, I was able to find thee files with GK4 extensions, but I couldn't open them and delete any contents. Likewise, under Media Manager, I DO see a "demo" folder which shows the GK background that currently shows in lieu of my uploaded image. I could probably erase all of those? Can you please give me a better vector? Super thanks.

Few ways you can do this.

1. Use ftp program and connect to your ftp server. Browse to directory I have posted and delete the image files.
2. Use your servers CPanel and use its file manager to delete image files.
3. Install a file manager component for joomla to delete image files.

Only delete the cached image files no other folders or files please.

Hi again, Norman.

My site is hosted by SiteGround. Thanks to you I logged into my cPanel and successfully navigated to "File Manager" where I found two files in the cache folder which I deleted. Unfortunately, I still have the same problem:

http://americanfootballfilms.org/

The slideshow is still showing the GK Demo background.

Also, I have since re-sized and uploaded a replacement photo showing on the bottom left (player #44) but the site is still showing the previous image.

I'm really stuck on this and would like to get it resolved tonight so that I can pickup from this point tomorrow.

I really hate starting my days with a persistent problem such as this which I can't seem to hurdle.

Many, super thanks for you help.

You haven't changed any of the slide images that is why you still have them. Image show doesn't automatically get the image from K2 or the article. You need to define or select your images for your slides, in this quickstart package there are demo images in your slides.

Go to Extensions Manager > Module Manager > Image Show Module

On right side, click on Your Slides.

Then click on each slide and change image.
You might have to upload your images again to a folder and select them by doing above steps.

I have changed one of your slide images, slide 2.

Hi again, Norman. Took a nap and now I'm back at it.

Thanks for the vector for how to change the slides under Module Manager and Image Show.

Meanwhile, another moderator posted to a previous thread which I posted before the one about which we have been exchanging, re: How to change the slideshow photos.

Below is my response to the second moderator. Please see item #2 about which is outstanding:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your response.

I was just about to update this thread based on what I have recently learned from another good moderator (Norman UK) a few hours earlier:

1. To change the pictures of the slideshow (they don't just happen automatically as I initially thought); rather, one must go to Module Manager of the K2 cPanel, scroll through the pages, and look for "Image Show". From there, on the right side, under "Your Slides", one can manage the images that are shown during the slideshow as well as link them to existing articles.

2. While I have successfully updated my slides and am in better shape now (thanks again Norman), I am still experiencing an annoying problem: That is, when I double click any of the images of the slideshow while the slideshow is running -- which redirects you to the full article -- the same image "should" also show again above the article text but, in my case, that is not happening. Instead, I see only the GK Demo file. However, when I double click on the GK Demo File, it is at that point that the template shows me the same loaded image that I want.

So the question is: What must I do so that the selected image of my article shows above the text at the first instance versus having to double click the DK Demo image?

Thanks again and in advance.

Just to be on the safe side, please create your images and upload them to your server. name them slide 1 and slide 2 and so on.

Now please tell me which slide should link with which article.

I will then check to make sure it is all working.
