Hi, I've got a problem here...
The Extended Author Info, below K2 article, is not showing...

I've set the extended author info to "SHOW" in the category setting
I've even set it to "SHOW" in the item setting
Write a short bio, show the avatar, and everything and it still not showing...

I've checked the other posts in the forum but they only ask about the author info below the title, not the extended author info below the article...

Here's the screenshot...

Can you please try below. This is to test whether problem is related to K2 setting or K2 Style in League News template.

Rename following folder to com_k2_test
Code: Select all
templates/gk_league_news/html/com_k2

Now load your K2 article again. This time K2 will use its own original style. Check if extended author info shows. If it does let us know so we can check this issue in our style.
If it doesn't load then that means problem is in K2 settings which you might have disabled without knowing.

See you around...

Hi, Norman...
I did what you're told...
and here is the screenshot of what happened...

Image

I think the problem is in the template itself, coz this problem had already occurred since the first time I've installed it to my web hosting with the quickstart package... At first I think this is just a minor problem, but when I "SHOW" the extended author info at the category parameter, it's not showing, and I didn't change any k2 settings...

Once com_k2 inside html folder is renamed then template has no control over what is happening as K2 is using its own template.

Maybe there is a permission issue somewhere, can you please try to login in front end and see if it does display. Make sure you login as super user.

Let us know, see you around...

Hi, Norman...

Well, actually I already logged in at the front end with my super user account, and that's what happened...

You know what, let me try to re-download the quickstart package and try to install it on my localhost... I'll let you know what happen...

Also check other information which is around extended author information. Sometimes happens you disable 1 setting in backend it disables all information.

Or you can try enabling all settings and see if it shows , if it does switch off 1 by 1 until you have your result.

Hi, Norman...

so I re-download the quickstart template, and re-install it on my web server...
And... here's the screenshot of the FRESHLY installed template on my web server, with the settings stay UNTOUCHED, and it doesn't look like the demo anyway...

oh, and if you need to see it directly, my site is in http://www.glegek.com/

front end already logged in as super user, and that's exactly what happened...
as I said, there's something wrong with your template guys, and no, I didn't change any settings, or anything, the web server is good, with the latest PHP, SQL, etc...

In your site you have an error "JUser: :_load: Unable to load user with ID: 42" which it cannot find user id 42 therefore cannot show any information due to no user.

I am sure if you correct that information it should work fine.

See below link.

Hi, Norman...

Still, you haven't answer my first problem here... You just told me to check this, here and there... And like I told you, everything seems to be in order, I didn't change anything, I just installed the quickstart package (which Gavick team promised is the will look like the demo template)... And the extended author info already set to SHOW and even in the item view options...

When I set the Extended Author Info to "SHOW" there's a gap like this below the article:

http://glegek.com/images/gogogoREADY.png

where's the Extended Author Info? I don't see it, I've double checked everything, insert the avatar image, insert the bio description, whatsoever, and it STILL LOOK LIKE THAT... and I'm tired with this, and I'm starting to get disappointed with Gavick...

Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

You are viewing a K2 item which is created by "user ID 42". In your database K2 cannot find any user with Id number 42 there for it cannot show any information related to author in this case user id 42.

This could be caused by a bug in quick-start or by other means such as admin tools , changing super user id to a secure user id.

As content gets updated all the time, codes gets changed and there could be bugs now and then due to changes.

You can wait for a fixed version or you can try to change your super user id back to 42.

the 42 is already solved... but the not-showing extended author info was happened before and after I solved the '42' problem... so it's clearly there's a problem within the template itself...
