home-page e-sport and google

http://www.galaspecialist.nl is live. there is no real home content in terms of an article, only modules/carroussel.

now when searching for Gala Specialist on google, the home page links to the contact page. on the frontpage the home button is overruled by the template (good) while home is actually linking to the contact item (backend). and this contact item is considered as home by Google.

ofcourse changing the menu (home) to an external url (www.galaspecialist.nl) is not accepted by joomla as it needs to be a module or an article...

what can we do here....

First of all you should change the alias for this "Contact" page from home-2 to 'contact' or something similar. We don't know how google is indexing pages (if you know please let me know I'm very interesting:)) but usually it takes part of text from beginning of the site. My advise is create the site map and upload it to google then it will be easier to detect the 'home' page. Please read this http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=156184 should help you with all site map related questions.

the thing is: contact alias is contact. and NOT home-2. this home-2 is nowhere to be found within the backend... any clue how this is being generated from within joomla?

It is generated by Joomla! menu - from root to children. Please try to remove this menu item and add again. You are using default Joomla! SEF URL's system ?

home2 was idd used by one of the menu-items. this is now changed.

still: i don not understand the "home" page link. During my proces of editing, i have changed the homepage type link. i need to now the standard setting. Ofcourse there is no "real" homepage with the esport template. If i try to link the home button to an url www.sitename.com it's not accepted.

sef url's are switched on within joomla.

I don't think that anyone know here how Joomla SEF URL's works in details. You can look at library and check the code. Of course the 'Home' page exist on eSport template if you enable mainbody on front-page. This part is only not visible.
