Hi,

I have a question about changes in php configuration VM such as configuration.php.

Few weeks ago I worked with e-sport template on my localhost. And latter I moved my website
on server. In joomla configuration.php I made necessary changes but i didnt do this in VM configuration.

Someone told me that is very important to do this configuration, isn't it?

Well, I am rookie in joomla, so many things are for me like black magic. Can you show me in wich file I have to do this? Is it admin.virtuemart.php? or another file? What changes I have to do? I read a lot of websites with joomla and didnt find proper answers.

Thank you for your time

By default all VM configuration is saved in folder /administrator/components/com_virtuemart/virtuemart.cfg.php

And there you can specify all VM settings but my advise is to use akeeba backup if you want to move site from localhost to on-line server. Step by step tutorial you will find here http://www.gavick.com/magazine/akeeba-backup-–-security-copy-and-a-portal-move-in-a-few-minutes.html

ok, thanks for advice, but I allready did this. I moved my site from localhost to server (climbe.pl) but there is a little problem. In e-sport template there is no file named exactly virtuemart.cfg.php

Now I just download your quickstart templete e-sport and checked it on my server and I followed this path [administrator/components/com_virtuemart/virtuemart.cfg.php]. Unfortunately, this file virtuemart.cfg.php is not there. There are different files, such as:

admin.virtuemart.php
changelog.php
COPYRIGHT.php
index
version.php
virtuemart.php
virtuemart.xml
virtuemart_deafaults.cfg-dist

tell me please, wich file is important to configurate VM after moved to server from localhost, and what kind of changes I have to do? Can you show me exactly paths necessary to change?

Great thanks

I think you should ask all your VirtueMart related questions on VM support forum. As I said in previous response whole VirtueMart related configuration is stored in :

administrator/components/com_virtuemart/virtuemart.cfg.php

I don't think that you need to copy this other files but maybe someone from VirtueMart support give you more accurate directions.

Ok, thanks I will ask in VM support, but check your template, You said "VirtueMart related configuration is stored in :

administrator/components/com_virtuemart/virtuemart.cfg.php
"

In gavick e-sport quick start files there is no virtuemart.cfg.php. Pleaese, check my last post. You will find the names of files wich are in your quick start. That is all I have. No one help me on VM forum if I didnt have this file.

Configuration file is creating during installation. If you use clean template you don't get VM config file because template is a template and 3rd party extensions are 3rd party extensions. My advise is to install quickstart and then see what more changes you need.

Please use Akeeba Backup for moving site - this will move also your configuration. All VM configuration is stored in file configuration.php. The only thing that you probably need to change are paths from localhost to the new ones.

Qucikstart contains demo content but not configuration dedicated to your installation. Some changes you need to make after intallation in configuraiton.php file. More info you will surely find on VM forum and help files.

If you have any problems with VirtueMart extension you should redirect your questions to VM support forum because this is a 3rd party extension beyond our support. My advise is to use akeeba to move site and you will avoid all of your problems.
