Cart Link Pops up Strange and Menu

When you click on the Shopping cart icon on the right or the My Cart Link at the top a screen pops up and I assume its supposed to show the cart... but it shows the home page instead in a little pop up box... I have the most current Joomla and template... I installed it using the Quickstart version. The site is: http://www.mybilliardstore.com/

Also, anyway to have the Category menu section on the left not show all the subcategories... for example, when you click on the Category of Cues which is in the Black Category menu section on the left... all the sub categories show up... and for this Cue category there are a ton so the list is huge... would like to show just the top level categories before and after its clicked.

Thanks

why is that needed for this? I really would like to see if you can figure it out without that... not sure why that is needed... last time I did that - the site crushed and took me 10 hours to fix it... wasnt you guys but still. The shopping cart thing has been asked about before and the categories thing is a menu thing... is FTP access really needed?

Hi,

After checking with settings in your backend I found out nothing wrong so I need FTP access to check with a template file which generates cart block so please provide for further assistance.

Thanks,

Thanks for the update... I assume you are talking about the Cart links... what about the other issue I brought up about the Category menu?

Let your developers know that I will be turning off the shopping cart module that I need work on (the link at the top and the icon on the right) as I cant have it like that while I wait... however, I DO want that function... so when they go to the site, just turn it on... fix it and leave it on... Also, would be nice if someone would address the other things as well that I listed... Tech support with Gavick usually is efficient and well done - seems like this post and another are falling through the cracks for some reason. Any ETA from the developers?

I have written an email to a developer to check that but haven't heard back from him yet, I'm sorry we are an international team so communication is hard at times, I will get you updated right after we find something. Regarding the other issue, I'm checking it for you right now.

Hi,

Today I got this mail from the dev:
This issue is similar to one from kayako, I'll update this when I get any solution.

Please be a little more patient.

Thanks,

OK... but what about the other item... seems like you guys are forgetting that... which is: Also, anyway to have the Category menu section on the left not show all the subcategories... for example, when you click on the Category of Cues which is in the Black Category menu section on the left... all the sub categories show up... and for this Cue category there are a ton so the list is huge... would like to show just the top level categories before and after its clicked.

Can you ask your IT guy or whomever - what they did? Now I am getting the following errors when I go to the virtuemart component: • JFTP: :write: Bad response

I disabled the user login - just ask them what they did...

Hi,

As I have just said in another topic, this issue is caused by that VM can't write its files into some directory, please contact your hosting provider to fix the problem with permission then all the issues will be sorted.

My hosting is Rochen, same people who host Joomla themselves... why would they have something that doesnt work natively with Joomla?

I have no idea about that, have you tried setting up your FTP layer with root account as I mentioned earlier?

I sorted through all the problems the guy who I gave access to from Gavick gave to my site in trying to sort out the cart problem... I also switched to the new BikeStore theme and the myCart pop up doesnt work on that template either... not sure why - I am using Rochen... and standard stuff.

I cant give access again though - took me a couple of hours to get back to "even" with whatever that other guy did... not sure why he left my site that way and not return it to how it was when he couldnt figure the solution but either way - I am moving on...

I found a solution for the cart icon and/or the My Cart link not popping up properly... it has to do with a setting in Akeeba Tools Pro... going to post it here for other people in case they run into the problem:

Go to Admin Tools, Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF and find the "List of allowed tmpl= keywords" setting and add the word cart so it looks like: component, raw, cart may also say: component, raw, cart, system

Save and close - my cart link should work then.
