Multiple quantities not calculating properly in cart

Hi all,

I discovered that when more than 1 item quantity is selected to add to cart, when I go to cart, the cart multiplies the price of the individual item and the quantity. So if I order 10 of something, in the checkout cart it acts as if I have ordered 100. (See images below)

Also, if I am in the cart with only 1 product selected then decide to update the quantity to say 10, the same problem occurs. The price of the item gets multiplied by 10, then the quantity is multiplied by 10. So I effectively order 100 products.

Is this a problem with VM or a problem with this template?

I'm using VM 2.0.2/Joomla 2.5.4/Template 2.8

My site is not live yet, however I am happy to send the IP address of the preview site to any forum moderators should that be required.

All this calculations are made by VirtueMart not by template code, for sure please go to template/html directory, find com_virtuemart and change it name to for example com_virtuemart2 and check whether the problem still exists.

Looked around the VM forums.... this is a bug with VM 2.0.2. There are many people with all sorts of issues related to the cart calculations.

The only way to fix it, apparently, is to upgrade to VM 2.0.4 However, this template does not yet work with VM 2.0.4 yet. I look forward to when this template will be compatible with VM 2.0.4

I know this is not Gavick's fault, but I'm seriously considering moving away from the VM platform. Ever since VM 2.0 it has been released it has in my opinion, just been a big technical headache for developers.

I hope Gavick will consider developing templates for other major shopping carts... because I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels frustrated with VM's constant headaches.

We release an update to VM 2.0.4 probably today so don't worry, I've checked this on latest VM 2.0.4 and it is working properly so this was 2.0.2 version bug.
