I'd like to ask about support of product variants in your templates for VM 2.0.2-2.0.3e or when we could expect this.

I've struggled to work it out last couple of days with no result. What I get is a select box switching among separated pages allowing event parent parent to be added to the cart.

Thank you.

Hi,

Sorry I don't get you, can you use a screenshot to show me the issue instead?

Thanks,

For example I've got three variants of a product, each of them has it's own SKU (and sometimes a different price). I'd like to display them as a single product page with a selectbox to choose from. I want to use the parent product just as a templete for the children product (description etc), not as a real product.

- I create a Custom field and choose Generic Child Variant
- I create a parent product and assign the new custom field type to it
- I create some child products

Now I can see the parent product in a category and in search results on frontend. So far so good.

My problems are:
- the parent product is included in the selectbox together with child products
- it's possible to add the parent product to the cart
- VM LATEST PRODUCTS shows the parent and all the child products

I use quickstart instalation.

Thanks.

From your description I see that everything is related with VM configuration not our template. Could you test it by disable our overrided VirtueMart styles ? All that you need to do is change name of template/html/com_virtuemart directory to for example com_virtuemart_copy and check results. Did you test it on clean VM to claim that it is template issue ?

You are right. The same issue has even a clean VM installation. We tried different configurations of the child products and It seems to me that it's not problem of VM configuration but the functionality doesn't work properly.

My question should be then: Have you seen VM2.0.2-2.0.3x installation with correctly working child products as variants? (Cart variants are not a solution for us. We need SKU for every child product).

Thanks and enjoy your weekend!
