Good day support team.

I'm having trouble with the eSport template.
I have upgraded to Joomla 2.5.3 and using the latest VM 2.5.2. Template: 2.6.1

When I try to add a product to the cart, there is simply no functionatly.
The "view cart" button works fine. But the "add to cart" button doesn't ad the desired product to the cart.|
I don't get the same "pop-up" window like in the demo template.

Any suggestions?

Hi

Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

I can see button, but cannot access joomla panel to check if it can be changed.

If it helps, I have Joomla 2.5.3 installed, with template version 1.0, VM 2.0. And this issue does not occur.

However, if I update to VM 2.0.2, that's when this problem occurs for me.

I resolved my problem by upgrading my web browsers... Firefox 11, Safari 5.1.2

I can now add to cart successfully.

I also have FireFox 11, but I still can't use the add to cart function.

The backend seems to be working fine, but not the front-end.

Can anyone advise? :(

Same problem to me: my cart shows an empty popup.

I add few extra info:
on a windows quickinstall : it works, index.php?tmpl=cart return a cart page

on a linux standard install: it does not work. index.php?tmpl=cart return empy page

The browser is the same (crome) : the problem seams to be server side. But I can't debug...

I'm novice to joomla 2.5 and I can't figure how joomla calls template/html/mod_virtuemart_cart/default.php starting just from index.php?tmpl=cart. Do you use session or cookie extra info?

Ideas?

Just an update.

My Cart works on quickinstall but not on my installation. It seams a my fault on my configuration  .
Do you need extra plugins/modules (in addition to VirtueMart Shopping Cart) in order to run My Cart module?

This version can be found in rest_files package for this template.

Hi

We have prepared a style for VM. After installing VM You need to upload our style to make VM match template look. Files and instruction where to upload it is in rest_files package.

Anyway programmers pointed me to a thread on virtuemart forum with exacly the same problem. Looks like it's connected with server configuration and virtuemart itself and not the template: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=95724.15

Okay, but then why did Gavick release a template with Virtuemart if proper checks weren't done. Now one sits with a template without the basic functionality of ecommerce

Dear @teitbite, you still missed the point, probably due to my bad English, sorry.
I try to summarize again my problem:
  • Add to cart works (at least for me), it is my cart (both icon and menu) that displays an empty popup instead of the cart contents.
  • The problem is at server level (not a browser problem): if you directly call index.php?tmpl=cart you get an empy page instead of a cart summary.
  • If I use your quickstart installation all is working, but if I do a fresh install (with all last updated components, except for K2 components that i do not need), my cart stop working.
  • it is surely a missed component (pheraps the VM style)
  • in esport rest_files package I can't find any VM syle nor instruction.

@teitbite please, could be more precise about the exat file name for the rest file you are talking about and about syle and instruction position in it?

Best regards
PS.: I'm using Joomla 2.5.3 an VM 2.0.2, both with Italian Language.

Found the problem.

The error is in the template package:

In file templateDetails.xml :
Code: Select all
   <files>
      <filename>ajax.php</filename>
      <filename>component.php</filename>

Should be:
Code: Select all
   <files>
      <filename>ajax.php</filename>
      <filename>cart.php</filename>
      <filename>component.php</filename>

The cart.php was missed my installer.
Note that in quickstart cart.php is present. The problem was already adressed by https://www.gavick.com/forums/140/my-ca ... 13644.html a month ago.

Please update your template.

I just downloaded the quickstart package and uploaded on to my server.
Still the same problem.

I also added: <filename>cart.php</filename> as mentioned.
No luck ...

Which version of Virtuemart is used on the Gavick website for Esport? Is it using the new 2.0.2??

The bug in templateDetais is for the installer and shold be fixed with a new version of the template by Gavick.
In the meantime, as a workaround you can copy manually <quickstart test installation>/templates/gk_esport/cart.php to <your installation>/templates/gk_esport/cart.php

Can one of the moderators please tell me that even after I have downloaded the latest quickstart installation of the template why the virtuemart "add to cart" functionality is still not working?

Please visit: http://pumaknives.co.za/new/index.php?o ... egory_id=1

Now why is the add to cart not working?

I have tried everything the support forum suggested. See my other post:

So please, support team ... kindly inform me why it's not working!

My advise is to wait for VM 2.0.4 update or reinstall the 2.0.2 version, I've just installed latest package, add to cart is working properly so something have to goes wrong during installation process.

Are you serious? the Virtuemart 2.0.4. version was already released on the 9th of April. And no, it still hasn't fixed the problem.

I have uploaded the latest "quickstart" package 2 days ago and upgraded it to VM 2.0.4. and the same problem still exists.

I have checked all the Jquery and Product scripts, everything! Also consulted the hosting provider for the mod_security option as well.

No luck.

Can someone working at Gavick please assist. It seems like the only way to get service is to pay for it. So I will be willing to pay to fix this error.

Hi

bkrztuk and me are working for Gavick and we simply do not know what is causing it. There is no more reports of this issue on the forum also I haven't noticed it installing it for clients.

Please try use the latest quickstart it has VM 2.0.6 and style updated to it. I've tried it myself and there is no mentioned issue there.

Probably you have conflict with some 3rd party scripts or your VM/template installation is broken. We've tested the quickstart package several times and there are no problem, please also check your server settings with VM requirements.

Perhaps this will help...

My site was working PERFECTLY up until I installed: ACESEF.

That killed the 'add to cart' and automatic price calculation of custom product attributes in an instant.

Going to work through various setting combinations and see if I can get it to work some other way. Ill also install SH404SEF and see if that produces a different outcome.

See link for more info. Has something to do with JRoute class... not my area of expertise.

I disabled AceSEF and template now works (add to cart and automatic calculation restored).

Hi

Yes this could be one of the problems while links to template's js was rewritten and not loading along with the template. I'm so glad You got it working. This wasn't an easy to diagnosed issue.

Yes this has been a difficult issue for a lot of users. So I went through every setting in AceSEF to see if I could resolve the problem. AceSEF is, in my opinion, the superior SEF/SEO product for VM2 at the moment. There is a specific VM extension for AceSEF that you can buy for an additional fee, and it was inside this extension's options that can fix AceSEF to once again get the add-to-cart to work. (See attachment for correct setting).

I don't know whether the other users on this forum have their problems because of AceSEF, but their problems are most likely related to another third party extension which is loading javascript. Template users should try experimenting to narrow down what could be the culprit. I was lucky in my situation, as AceSEF was the last thing to install before I go live.

However, the automatic price calculation display is still not working. Not a major issue, but it does make the online shopping experience much nicer. Perhaps I should start another thread for this issue, unless any of the moderators can offer insight here?

Hi

I'm affraid VM developers will be more helpful with price calculator as long as it's their code. You should try ask them about that.

Thank You for writting about AceSEF issue. Not many of out clients is using it (as I thing from forum questions), but I'm sure someone will find this thread helpful.
