[solved] Slideshow - can't upload new pictures

When trying to update picture or making a new slide, the screen goes dark when clicking the "select" button when editing a slide. It seems like it doesn't load the dialogbox, where I can upload a new picture :(

It's the same in IE, Firefox and Opera.

Joomla version 2.5.0

Any idea how to make this work?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem here.

When i try to change the position of the module, the dialog box doesn't load. Same thing when i try to upload a new picture.

And this is hapening in any Image Show GK4 that you create...

I just tried on another computer, and there it works fine - must be a local problem in my computer :?

The problem occured when making changes in the module "Slideshow". When I enter the "Your slides" tab there's a line called "Image" where a path to the image of that slide is shown. If I press the button "Select" the screen goes dark (that see-through effect like a lightbox image show), and the box where I can upload or choose a new pictures doesn't show.

I don't know how to explain it better - it should be pretty obvious from my explanation.

I have the same problem. I want to change pictures to Slideshow and hit "Select" button. AFter that it tries to load some kind of lightbox but it doesnt load anything (exept that screen goes darker like they do when you load something to a lightbox).

I tried newest version of Chrome and Firefox (Win 7 ultimate).

Same problem with 2.5 Quickstart here. Also, perhaps related, I cannot edit or create VM categories.
The only fix I have found is to dump 2.5 and reinstall the 1.7 quickstart from scratch.

Images can now be edited in the slideshow and new ones added, plus VM seems to work.

Updating Joomla from 1.7 to 2.5 via the Admin panel causes the problem to reappear.

Anyone any ideas as I would really like to set this site up on 2.5.

Yeah, same problem here. Bloody annoying!!! Tried FF, Chrome, and IE. Basically its a lightbox, modal box or whatever that is supposed to load but it doesn't. Why not just let users enter the path in the box, rather than these fancy popups that seem to annoy more than help...

I am very disappointed with the support in this topic...

But like MasterBates says, if you download the last version of Image Show GK4 v1.23 and replace the old files or installing via extension manager, the problem will be solved.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. Very disappointed. This extension is not ready for use. In the module, there's a link to download v 1.23, but if you try, it only gets you 1.22

In 1.22 you cannot edit the slides. The edits won't appear. You have to delete all slides and re-add them if you want them to appear.

Sadly, this is not the first time i encounter these type of issues with Gavick products. They could be so great if they just QA'd them a bit more before releasing...

Hi

Sorry I was not here. Got some family issues. Nevermind.

I have an access from sirhanhi and I can see that a module for joomla 1.7 is in use. Joomla 2.5 require a little adjustment to it, so we have prepared a designed module for it. It can be downloaded here https://www.gavick.com/download/extensi ... w-gk4.html

I have done about 12 installations which doesn't work then suddenly works by itself. Regardless of which browser you use. Not only imageshow but other modals are effected too.

It seems to be related to joomla mootools.
Code: Select all
joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=25082

wtf. I search the forum and found a solution on my problem posted by NormanUK
"Make sure you refresh the page while you are at module settings page as your browser might still be using old css file in cache."
that did the trick for me ;-)

Hi

@Donnie Kim I'm answering to a mail send to me related to this thread as suggested. Unfortunately this is a different problem. In the above a popup was not displaying at all, Your problem is connected with old joomla version. 1.7 is not supported by joomla anymore because of unsolved security problems. Please update joomla to 2.5 version as soon as possible and let me know if problem is still there. I believe it will be fix than.
