Did a new install, no edits to template and it shows all as one column... the menu is set to use one leading article, and 5 columns... anyone know how to get this to look like the basic demo page does?

Hi

Please tell me which page in demo are You refering to ? I can see it's divided into columns, but I also see the style was overwritten since ther is no place to display columns there.

Thanks for the reply - in this example: http://demo.gavick.com/free/may2012/ it shows the first article larger than the others, but displays the rest as columns across the page - this is what I am trying to do...

Hi

It's not exactly as You think. There is only one article displayed from content component (the big one) and rest, articles displayed in columns, are modules attached to "sidebar" module position. Here You will find a documentation with module configuration to learn or see how they are configured. You may also install a quickstart in a different location to have something to compare Your modules with.

I made that change - but it just shows links not articles/intro on the right side... and they are still in one column, is there a way to have this work like the demo - with articles filling the screen?

is there not a basic/standard setting that can be used to get the same look as the demo?

Do you know what menu settings need to be applied for this? I have it set to use one leading article, 5 columns, to show the text of secondary articles... the rest are all in the module as you suggested.

Hi

First of all please do not bump Your own thread. It refreshes the date and moves Your question to the end of the line in moderator tool. So You need to wait longer for answer.

Here is a documentation with settngs of a demo website: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... on-joomla/

You need to use more modules to have couple of columns. Every module added to sidebar module position will be presented with masonry script and moved more to right with every column filled.

Sorry I didn't know about bumping a thread - as for using more modules, that means each needs to apply to a different category? Otherwise each column will have the same articles in it... is there no way to just have one blog category, with all the articles in that ONE category and have the display be multiple columns?

Hi

Everything depens from a selection of modules. For example if You will use News Show Pro GK4 or GK5 You can show latest articles form all categories in each module, but set different "First news number" option, so for example first NSP will show 3 articles, next will show 3 articles, but from 4th, and so on. In demo there are other modules with custom html, banners, tabs, etc. Each one of them will be position as next on modules columns.
