Changing default page home page not working?

Why, when I try to change the default homepage to anything besides Featured Articles, does the content on the page not change to the new Menu Item Type? I am trying to change the frontpage to Jomsocial Home and the frontpage remains blank.

Please make sure that you've enabled displaying mainbody in front page in template settings - first tab.
