Quickstart Files

Hi

Because of unknown errors I have had to upload my site again using the Myfolio quickstart file.

The pre installed K2 admin section the 'usergroups' and 'extra fields' sections are totally blank when you click on the link to access the areas. Is this how it is supposed to be? Is this an issue with K2 or the quick installation zip? Files were uploaded via ftp.

The same thing happened in my first install too, which I ignored and continued to edit the site. But over the time editing, other issues began to appear and I am not sure if they're connected. This is why I had to begin with a new installation.

If you are using latest my folio joomla 2.5 quickstart package it is working fine.

However I remember something similar in joomla 1.7 versions of the quickstart packages and i believe it was a filename lowercase/uppercase issue or wrong filenames for extrafields and usergroups files.

If you download and re-install K2 2.5.4 it should solve this error. You can install it from extension manager.

Hi Norman

Thank you for your response. I have added the most recent quickstart package. The errors are present. I have just been trying to upload some mods and other components and now the issue I had has reappeared where if I click say, 'modules' or 'components' to see the list of what has been added, a blank screen occurs. If I click the whole back section to see K2, it has now turned blank so no access at all.

This is exactly what happened in the last install and why i reinstalled the package because the whole admin back end finally showed only a white page with 'administration' in the top left hand side. Nothing else.

I'm not a developer so it's beyond me what is going on. I just can't see why, K2 had two sections blank screen and when I add more mods or components, other blanks pages appear in the back end so I end up not being able to access the admin area.

I have no idea what is going on, have you heard of anything like this other than the lower case/upper case issue? I'm going out of my mind here.

Issue with filename lowercase/uppercase was when using Joomla Admin > Components > K2 > custom fields or user groups.

If you are having problems in other sections of your joomla admin then that has got nothing to do with above.
You can send an admin access along with ftp details to my email normanuk [ at ] live.co.uk and i ll take a look to see if i can diagnose anything.

Norman, you're a star! But I lost all access via admin and front end - so it is pretty weird. I am presently uploading and reinstalling the quickstart for the third time. Once complete, if you don't mind, if I see the issue again, I will take you up on sending the details through so you can view it. I do appreciate your time. Thanks very much. Hi Norman
I have sent you the ftp and log in info. The issue is still there, so I suspect you're right re not just a K2 issue. But it must have something to do with the files in the quickstart package.

Hi,

i have recently downloaded the eSport quick_start17, and installed it successfully, everything is fine, except product images!! i mean when i try to add a new product with it's image there is an error and the image can not be saved,,, product is being saved alone not with images neither related product which i selected.
Please help me on this issue?

Your issue might be related to permission issue so check folder permissions for where the image needs to be written. Also if you can open a separate topic as your issue and template are different thank you.

Hi everyone!!

i just downloaded the eSport 2.5 quick_start, and installed very easy, and totally every thing is working properly except virtuemart shop, when i try to edit the default detail of shop on pressing the save button, the pages get lost and there is a message with title of Forbidden saying; **You don't have permission to access /onlineshop/af_om/administrator/index.php on this server.**

Please someone help me!!

Check file permission for joomla files in your ftp.

Same problem..

but permissions are ok

it was working fine till yesterday, and now after for instance adding manufacturer, clicking save button this shows..

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /shop/administrator/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
