Myfolio Quickstart on GoDaddy

I dowloaded the myfolio quickstart today, and I have encountered a dead end. It may be a disconnect in my mind about how the database relates to the domain, but here it goes:

I downloaded the quickstart and unzipped it. I FTP'ed the folder up to a clean root folder for my domain- I previously uninstalled joomla so it was just the quickstart folder in the root.

Now the tricky part for me...

I created a new MySQL database, but I am having a hard time understanding how this database relates to the domain. I have 7 domains on this host, the six others have databases, all of which were created during the joomla install on godaddy. None of these installs were manually done.

So I create this new database... and then I have a folder full of sub folders and files, which is the quickstart, under the root of the domain I want to use this template on... but how does my new database know where it needs to be populated from? I tried to follow the directions on this site, but after I create my database the next step is:

"Open your browser at the address/directory where you will perform the installation."

There is still no connection between the database and the specific root folder on my host for my specific site. Remember- I am hosting multiple sites on one host.

I ended up doing a clean joomla install and installing the template- but I feel like this isn't the way I really want to do it. I want to make this quick start work. I put about 6 hours in to it today and didnt get past making a random database on my host.

Where am I going wrong? What do I need to do when creating a database that will tell it where to populate its information from, namely the quickstart folder.

Thanks in advance for your help!!! :)

After 10 hours I got it figured out. The directions weren't bad, I just misunderstood them. During the installation of the quickstart, it gives you the opportunity to provide the information on the database. That is the connection I was not seeing and thought had to be made PRIOR to installation.
