How do i change the java scripts in the header

Hi i am being helped at the moment in speeding up my website http://www.in2town.co.uk and increasing my yslow score and i am being told i need to do the below, but i am not sure what i need to do or how i do it. can anyone please explain how i do this please

You should start by merging your css files to as few as possible.

Your page is being blocked by the java-scripts in the header, try to merge/ move as many as you can to the bottom of the page.

Merging files in not so good solution, in effect you will get one very large file, the same with JS files. In addition few scripts are loading only on selected pages so it only makes your site loading slower.

and it brings up a number of problems for me. i would really value your help. at the moment i have plug in system cache enabled but it causes me problems. yes it makes the site go faster but then every so often it makes my site goo funny where on the side, right hand column it makes the writing tripple the size and breaks up my website.

it would be great if gavick pro became the leaders and had a section where people could make their templates a lot faster.

the trouble i have is, i am wasting money on a dedicated server which was fine before i had this template installed (but i do love the template) and the template i had, my site was having a speed of around 4 seconds, but now with this template my site when the system cache is not enabled is around 12 seconds.

so any help that you can give me to try and solve this problem out would be great as i need the site to be a lot faster.
