[SOLVED] jomsocial theme for 2.4+ not working on j1.5 site.

hi

the jomsocial theme i was told would be 1.5 compatible (asked via the ticket service last week
) with the latest release of the template, isnt... or at least has massive amount of bugs in it.

Primarily - i really need to know where to put the font/headers code supplied in the txt file in the jomsocial gk_style file.

there is no place in 1.5 to put this????

also, it breaks my site, with pages now loading with the bottom browser slide moving the site from left to right.

the gk_sytle issue is on all jomsocial pages.

the issue i think is that the jomsocial update requires the user to put additional code in a space i dont think exists on j1.5.... here is the text from the doc.

1. Please move gk_style catalog to the components/com_community/templates directory
2. Please add following selectors to the group "Headers" in the template options at "Fonts" tab:

next step seems to be an issues across the board... its with the GK_style folder for jomsocial.
I have a few sites having the same problem.
I have downlaoded the latest joomla 1.5 template updates and followed instructions - but the jomsocial 2.4.1 folder for gk_style includes an additional .txt file that talks about headers... this is a j1.7 feature, not j1.5 - so this update is not j1.5 friendly...

however, there ARE two folders, but one says jomsocial 2.4.1 - so you would assume that that would be the folder to use!

As for template folders if you are using jomsocial v2.4+ then upload "gk_style" in "jomsocial_2.4_theme" to "/components/com_community/templates/"
Then from Joomla Admin > Components > Jom Social > Templates
Click on radio button next to "gk_style" then click on Default on top right...

Now it should work fine.

thanks for following this through HOWEVER, the cufon file in TWNII ALREADY has that code in it... its NOT working.

Is it possible for someone who made this template to PROVIDE the cufon file in the eact format it should be., in case i missed something or made an error?

would be good to include that altered cufon file in the update, so people can swap over a new one.

Created the mod, all you need to do is copy folder "templates" to your joomla root. Find attached "SelectorMod.zip" file at the end of this post.

Original files are also included in attached zip file.

Files overwritten are as follows so you can do your backup

After copying files go to Joomla Admin > Extensions > Template Manager > gk_twn2 > Fonts

Open Selector.txt file which is in downloaded zip file and copy each selectors to right selector in above fonts features.

Save then close.
