Problem with setting up Facebook Login

Installed 2.5 Quickstart and I am trying to setup the Facebook login. I've got the ID and Secret entered into the plugin. I've also entered the ID into the template settings. When the Facebook login button is clicked, and I am already logged into Facebook, the Facebook login windows pops up and disappears and the Joomla login windows is still open. If I am logged out of Facebook and then click on the Facebook button, the Facebook login window pops up, I login and the Facebook login disappears but the Joomla login window remains open. I check the user database a no new user is created. What am I missing with the Facebook login integration?

I have installed this template on a clean joomla 2.5 install, no use of the quickinstall. I have setup the FB Connect infos in the template but I can't see a FB plugin in the plugin list. Of what plugin are we talking here? Is this plugin available for download seperately?

I have also installed Jomsocial on the site, and they also have a FB Connect in their component. It is working fine, so ID and secret are correct.

Thanks to bkrztuk who has helped me in another topic, I final got that the facebook plugin was available in rest_files package (source file in the template download section).

So I installed and publish the facebook plugin but the behavior remains the same. It asks me for login info, looks like it is loading something and then... nothing.

I am having this same issue in J 2.5 but with a different template (Sporter).

When I click on the "login with Facebook" button the facebook auth popup window appears. I click "login", the popup window closes and the main website window looks like it is trying to reload but it never happens and the screen stays blank. I have confirmed that it is logging me into my facebook account during the process however. Have you found a solution yet?

unfortunately I can't get any help for my problem. I even created a new topic just in case, and no replies. I have read a few other posts concerning problems with the facebook connect and it seems they can't solve this. I am really concerned about this because this functionality would be helpful for the site I am working on. THis is weird that the plugin is not even working on the demo site (music and WNII templates). This has been reported also by other members.

Is there a reason why my questions remain unanswered? I don't mean to be rude, just trying to have that FB connect working because this function is needed.

The funny thing is it works when i login at the home page or here http://aleksandrshevchenko.org/login - everything works... (perfectly fine)

however, the login does not work with the pop up window, only works in the popup at home page, but not on any other page through out the site. I'd love to get this fixed. For some reason i think it worked before and stopped after some kind of update.

digging deeper into this issue - i found that actually the home page plus other pages work. seems like it's something on some pages that gets loaded that disables the facebook login.

for example.

Digging through more - i found the source of the issue. It's Joomla articles. Any page that does not have a joomla article, the facebook login works. Everypage that does have an joomla article, the facebook login button just does noting.. (maybe this is different than the above issues - not sure)

I tested this by just changing a menu from joomla article to a k2 article and the issue was fixed.
