breadcrumbs how are people using it and what position

hi i am new to breadcrumbs and what i have noticed is, that the breadcrumbs producing the same menu's as the main menu and i have read that they are important but i am just wondering if anyone can explain more about the breadcrumb on this template and what position i should have it in if it is just reproducing all my menus

Breadcrumbs are important for SEO reasons and also help to navigate the website. It's completly different than menu. Breadcrumbs will show a leadder which user went down to see an article. For example:

Home > Section > Category > Article

In our templates position for breadcrumbs are always called "breadcrumbs"
