Migrating database to TWN2 1.7

I am a nooby here. Could someone post a step by step instructions on how to migrate my old site running TWN to TWN2 1.7. I am not able to copy the contents from the old database to new without affecting the settings in TWN2.

Thanks for following up.
I followed the instructions on that page but got an error message at the final step (#1136 - Column count doesn't match value count at row 1) and no contents were copied because of this error.

Are there any difference in the column count in my old database (running on J1.5) compared to the new database (original Quickstart package database, J1.7)?
