News Highlighter Not Working

I've gone to the module manager, opened the news highlighter module, changed it from Joomla to K2 categories, then highlighted the categories I want it to use.

The news highlighter now shows the newest news headlines from the categories, but when you click on one it does not link properly. It pulls up a link similar to:

http://www.mysite.com/item38

Since it is not making a link that properly points to the url of that item, the page just gets refreshed instead of taking you to the news story. Is there a known fix for this problem?

I'm not sure if this is known issue, but if you provide me with your FTP access and backend access then I can check and give you solution to fix it, PM me for those info please!
