Home Page advice please

This may be a stupid question but here goes. I had to delete world news 2 quick install after i was told by a developer that it has a big in it, so i had to reinstall joomla. I have reported this to the people at gavick pro.

So now i am trying to get my template the same as the demo but i am having a problem with the home page. I cannot see the word home on my home page and not sure how to get it there.

I am very new to joomla 1.7 as i normally use joomla 1.5 so i am on a learning mission

any help would be great and any advice to get my template like the demo would be great
