Everything was fine. I added one article and now links on the site are all opening home page. Search is giving error 404. What did I do wrong? All articles are K2.

This is a menu issue. In joomla most of the links works by menu item ids. So in your case you have renamed your menu items but links are still old links.

So to make sure please check following;

1. Make sure your main category in your menu is linked to correct k2 or joomla kategory.
Example: "Dermamed Salon" menu item is linked to correct K2 or joomla kategory.

2. Make sure all caches are deleted.
3. Go to your menu in joomla backend and on your right you will see "Rebuild Menus" click on it to re-correct all links as currently some of your items url looks as "component/k2/item".
4. If you are using any SEF component delete all created urls and let the component rebuild them.

Usage Example to make it more clearly to you.

My Example K2 categories are;

News
News > World News
News > Sport News
News > Internet News

My Menu Items:
News ( Created by : My Menu > Menu type "K2 Category" linked to "News" Category. )

So If I just create one menu item linking to my "News" K2 category everything will work.

Hi, normanUK!
Thanks for your post.
I checked your list and created category, deleted cache, recheck every menu item, rebuild menus and light a candle. No help.
I don't use any SEF except the one that comes with Joomla.
Please, give me more ideas.

For test purposes please create one single k2 article doesn't matter which category it is in and then create a new menu item linking to this k2 article ( menu type = k2 item ). Then check and test if this article opens or not.

I created main menu item "TEST". Still same thing.

There is something else wrong with my template. In template manager > edit style > updates there are listed just updates up to 2.5.1. When I click to download, i get 404. OK, maybe server location is changed. I'd like to try to update the template, but I wouldn't like to lose all customizations. Is this possible and how? With a little luck maybe update solves my situation. :)

All released templates are functioning fine they might have few minor bugs etc but does not cause the error you are having so I still believe there is either a mistake on your side while editing files or working on your site or there is a problem with your server.

Best advice would be to get one of the moderators to check your website. You can sent backend and ftp access details to my email normanuk [at] live.co.uk and i ll double check to make sure problem is not menu related.
If you still want to upgrade your template in case there is a newer version please follow below.
1. Backup your website and your database.
2. Download a copy of your website and install it locally by using Xamp or Wamp or alternatives.
3. Check your template version from Extensions > Manage , on right choose templates and check your version or alternatively edit file /templates/gk_templatename/templateDetails.xml and check your template version.
4. Try to remember and write your customization steps/edits/changes.
5. Update your template and redo your changes.
6. Check everything is working fine.
7. Replace your websites database and files with your local copy once you verify it is working fine.

Good luck.

Please check your email as problem has been identified.

For other users , using IIS server please make sure you do following check/changes before enabling "URL Rewriting" in SEO Settings.

1. Rename "web.config.txt" to "web.config" which is in root of your website.
2. Make sure IIS Rewrite module is installed/enabled/working fine in your IIS server.
