Why you create template with k2 in beta version?

Hi, i installed the quickstart for j1.7, but after hours of work i noticed that many k2 function's don't work good: search function don't work, date format is wrong...i have to change language files and other problems.
Now i'm asking why gavick team let downoload templates with components in beta status....
Now i have to delete this installation for j1.7 and i have to install that one for 1.5.
