How to change plain white background?

i'd like to keep the plain white background for the components but the white background i would like to change to my own image background.

if someone could let me know please thanks

and also let me know how to make the borders of the components and modules thicker

I don't want the background for the modules I want it for the background of the website instead od the plain white

Ive uploaded a picture of what i want.... but the bit ive circled at the top seems to be a transparent layer that i want solid white... how do i change this?

the blue shaded is the background

for example if i turn the background to blue the top box is blue too, it's transparent... i want to keep it white?
