I searched the forum but it looks like this is not discussed again.

I noticed that on this template when you post a new article on K2 a default image is automatically imported this this article, can you please tell me how is this working?

Hi

You did not specified the template, but as far as I know K2 got a separate place for images. You can add it in the article, but You can also use the gallery for it. In Category/item settings You can set to display it or not.

Well no, but let me rephrase my question.

We are on Musicity section that's why i didn't mention the template  :)

On this template, if you setup the quickstart package you will find out that when you add an article on K2 without adding a picture on this article, your new article will automatically have a new picture.

Hi

Och. I just see Joomla 1.5 ?? Got to tell progrmmers about it :)

I know the new image is displaying, but honestly I've never though that it's a bug. I've just removed it everytime it appears or disable showing image in category settings for item view.

Hi

This is an issue with K2 and doesn't have anything with Template.
More to be exact, it's related with K2 cache.
Normally we develop new template using old project, so you will find K2 images on cache directory that were used on previous projects.
So it seams that K2 brings up automatically old images from cache.
If you clean cache this will not happen again.

Actually, i always thought from my experience on K2 that handling cache is something to improve on this component. Here's an example: to change an image from an article, first you need to select "delete image" option, save the article and only them include new image. If you don't do it like this, image will not be replaced.

Maybe in next K2 version (hopefully with J!1.6 support  ) this will be improved.

"Is there a way to control which default image will be used?"

I'm afraid not.

Cheers ;)

Hi,

Thank you for your answer, yes indeed this is a K2 issue after all and yes you are right it has to do with cache.

I wonder if i can do something to create a function like this, so when an author publishes an article without any picture then a default picture will come up for this article.
