manual /instructions

Hi,

is there a manual available for this template? There used to be one in older templates but it seems to have become obsolete to release one in later releases. Think this is one the most basic ways of support, if it lacks I'll take my decisions...

Wow, I really must admit it is a great support here!       Any news on that? Do you plan on releasing quick installation guide or not?

yeah, i am wondering the same thing. sure would be great to get a response. themes are quite nice, however the forum organization and template documentation leave a lot to be desired.

Wow, and they wonder why people distribute their themes on share sites? Maybe if they acknowledged their paying customers, there wouldn't be any animosity. Well, I'll make sure to spread the word loud and clear the customer service here is nonexistent.

Hi

"They" are not ignoring You. Do not worry. The documentation will be available soon. Meanwhile I suggest to install a quickstart to have a look into extentions settings and for module positions You can always use "index.php?tp=1" at the end of the url.

Hi

Please remember to install the style of Jomsocial from rest_files package. Also install the modules from that folder.

So if "they" are not ignoring us. Why hasn't anyone replied to this thread yet, much less posted instructions for the template? If there is none available all they need to do is say so. Not really that complicated.

hi,
to my view, if you use quickstart, the module/components pdf´s, "index.php?tp=1" and firebug for firefox, you don´t need a manual for these templates.
nice greetings

just my few cents and let me tell you that I am so pissed but gavick un-support that I regret hAVING paid for this. There are plenty of companies that are dedicated to thier customers and gavick - unfortunely - seems not to be one anymore.

-providing support is a standard. why else should we pay for something that is widely available anyway?
-not everybody is willing / has the possibility to install the quickstart for every new template if you have a live site running

Hi

I'm from Gavick Support and I've already told You what to do. Having a live site means that You got a server to install quickstart to see the settings. Believe me it's in some cases better than looking at the setting on one of the module and trying to figure out how the second one was made ;/ You can always ask on forum if some setting will be too difficult or You won't be able to make anything.

You've already told me what to do? I wasn't asking "what to do". I was inquiring about documentation for the template. I know how to find module positions. In fact, I have already set up the theme on a working website and it's now live. I am quite comfortable with Joomla as well as general template modifying. However none of that has to do with my original statement that the template documentation leaves a lot to be desired. Both Rocket Theme and Joomlart put Gavick to shame in the documentation and support department.

While I appreciate your offer to assist, Teibite I wasn't looking for assistance, I was looking for template documentation I could review.

Regards
S6

Hello Teitbite,

I’m having issues with the gavick theme for Jomsocial on the new Musicity template. The website displays the following error - Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/user/public_html/components/com_community/templates/gk_style/frontpage.guests.php

I only get this error when I switch theme to the gk_style theme.

What should I do?

Thanks,

David

Hi

Please try to reinstall modules from "rest files" package. I've never seen this error before, but I believe it's related with one of them.
