Greetings,
Can I continue to upgrade the jomsocial part of the site regardless that the site cannot be configured to Joomla 3?
I noticed Joomla is upgraded to 2.5.17 which I'm doing now on this site. I hope it's compatible.
Also, Since I will never be able to upgrade this site to Joomla 3 as you aren't doing any maintenance, what do you recommend that I do to meet the Joomla 3 requirements so that I can upgrade? Do I need to hire someone? Will it be impossible?
Also, can I simply migrate my database to a different website if I decide to switch templates to MusicState with all the same components, can I keep my mySQL database or will I need to start all over?

Hi,
if you are using Joomla 2.5.x you can simply update to 2.5.17 - no worries - just remember to use Fix button in Extension Manager --> Database
If you Joomla 2.5.x works fine, you don't to have to migrate right now, Joomla 3.x is not stable in 100% still have small errors and not modules/components will work. Of course our templates (selected) have versions for J3.2.
I suggest to wait until Joomla! 3.3 (3.5) - which will be much better.
(!) Always make a full backup before migration (!) if you are sure that you want to do this.

Yes, JomSocial since 3.x version is compatible with Joomla 3.2, but not old 2.x versions !! You have to use the current version of this social network component only.

Will Joomla 3.3 (3.5) be compatible with your templates for Joomla 3.2?
I just want to double check although it seems like a stupid question.
What I'm thinking about doing is upgrading joomla, adding Joomla 3.2 template and upgrading the Jomsocial.
It seems simple enough right? I think a lot of the components by now will have a Joomla 3.0 version...

Hi,
1) They should be, but you have to check if new template versions would be available, so don't hurry
2) JomSocial 3.2 - came with only small changes, so our templates should work property, but (1)
If you didn't upgrade to 3.x yet, maybe wait until Joomla 3.3 will be available, wait 10 days.
