Hi Guys,

I had some issues about few weeks ago with the template Music while using it with FlexiContent, the thread can be read there https://www.gavick.com/forums/music/mus ... 21307.html

Basically, I was thinking that the issue was the same with Musicity template, I followed the same procedures to try correct the issues, in fact, some files did contain the .clear as mentioned by Konrad but not all files in this case. Where such files contains the .clear, issues was solved but I am still having some issues with some other part of the template while using FlexiContent.

As an example, please have a look at this link http://mauriestate2013.antarticproperti ... ample.html and you'll see that the width of the page and the height as well just go completely out of the screen! This is a normal page generated by FlexiContent!

Additionally, on the FlexiContent edit page, there are still some other issues, we have created a test page and test account so you can quickly see the error and guide us to correct it, the link for the test edit page is http://mauriestate2013.antarticproperti ... azine.html and you may use the username: test and password: test to login to the website, click on the test link and see the error live. The problem in the edit form is that the editor box (JCE Editor) is deformed, see under the Table of Contents tab and Magazine tab, you will see that the editor box is larger than the normal width.

The editor is deformed only under the flexicontent tab and if we use the editor on any other pages within the template, it works correctly, therefore, we are sure its a conflict or error between FlexiContent and the template itself, please get through this error and let us know the issue.

Hi,
FlexiContent is an 3rd party extension. And unfortunetly it will be extra customization to fix all issues for it. And we don't support it.

Dear Konrad,

As it is mention from all template developers, it is a fact that each template has its own design and feature, however, should I remember you about the Joomla community ethics? Joomla is an extension community and all extensions supported by Joomla are meant to be used by developers, such as K2, Seblod, Jomsocial among others.

We prefer to use FlexiContent because as its name mention it, its a very flexible content construction kit, much more powerful than K2 and simpler than Seblod and with hundreds more features!!!

You said that this will be extra customization!!! I am not asking you to correct the error for me but just to guide me through the solution so that I can correct these errors! The reason that we purchase a subscription is not to get the template but to get the support of the developer in case there is such issues! As you should be aware, there are lots of websites like redbitz.com, newone.org among others where Joomla professional and retailed templates are distributed for FREE! But we, as genuine business person, we buy subscriptions from developers to support them going on with their development so that they can also provide us support where necessary.

FlexiContent is a FREE (Non Commercial) extension, but still, the support team is much more active and responsive than any other extensions, including your own team, these guys are developing for FREE without any subscription or even donation request, simply because they like what they are doing and they are not doing it for money!!!

Now that I have said all these, I definitely need your guideline to correct these errors as those are generated by the template, if I use a default Joomla template, there are no error at all, therefore, the error lies in the template itself, you should provide solution to correct such issues.

Just as a comment, you said that you do not support FlexiContent, but I can see that you support K2, Jomsocial, Virtuemart etc. Do you think that all developers and website owners need to have the same preference as you do? I am sure the answer is NO.

Therefore, please get back to me with an appropriate solution for my issues, thanks in anticipation.

Issues are not with FlexiContent as it works perfectly with default Joomla template and some other framework as well, the issue is with GK template and such issues cannot be reported/solved by FlexiContent developer, it is the role of GK team to make the necessary so that your template are compatible with such extension, which by the way is one of many developers and website owners favored extension.

I am not saying that your template should be compatible with all Joomla extensions, but at least, if one of your subscriber is using a 'third party' extension as you said, the minimum is to help this person to solve such issues.

Extension developers can refuse to provide support for template issues and other extension conflict, but template developer must provide necessary support, as far as their template are involved, therefore, I expect from GK team to act as real professional and to please provide us the necessary support to solve these issues as soon as possible.

First problem is related to <div id="OverlayContainer"> it use some js script and don't calculate height and width for this item correctly. You can see it using firebug extension for firefox.

For second issue ,in gavick joomla.css you will find rule for <td> tags.
Code: Select all
form#adminForm table td, form#adminForm .cat-list-row0 td, form#adminForm .cat-list-row1 td {
padding: 6px 10px;
border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e5e5;
border-left: 1px solid #e5e5e5;
}

If you override them and you will set padding to 0 issue will be fixed.
