Deprecated Error messages

After I started using PHP 5.3 on my server I get this error message from the GK Jomsocial Stats module:

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /storage/content/18/144618/fotoforalla.se/public_html/modules/mod_gk_js_stats/mod_gk_js_stats.php on line 61

I also get this error message from the module GK Jomsocial Members:

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /storage/content/18/144618/fotoforalla.se/public_html/modules/mod_gk_js_members/mod_gk_js_members.php on line 81

What is the problem?

Do you have display_errors off in your php.ini ?

I don´t know since I don´t have access to that file, should I have it turned off?

Yes. Ask your hosting company to disable it.
