how to reduce the transparancy of the articles and modules please?

is it possible to make them completely transparent and then adjust the text to be white? would this be supported on other browers?

please show me your www. and where you want transparency ... then i can see if it's posible...

it was the area where the articles live/display..

I dont think i need it now but if you know haow to alter the transparancy for the article area then please can you tell me?

In this case there's no CSS opacity class added.
This is done with png alpha-transparency using white_bg.png image and div with transparency background-color.
Find this on style1.css and style2.css files.

You can change image transparency by changing source files added on rest files package using PhotoShop and replace image.
