Problem with mainmenu on smartphone browsers with default layout

If i access to my website from a mobile device (both android and os) the main manu results "exploded" (with every sub-item already opened) whith the dafault layout selected. Is there any possible solution for this problem or should I set layout for mobiel devices? Can't I use the default layout for theese devices? (I'm currently running on joomla 1.6)

Menu visualization problem update: I successfully modified and activated the menu layout for mobile devices (android and os). Now the problem is if I click on "desktop layout" from both these devices the main menu doesn't display any of its sub menu.
