I have downloaded the penguinMail Quickstart for Joomla 1.6 and have installed the software. However, I can not locate any instructions on how to get penguinMail working. Are there any additional modules that I need to download and installed? This is what I have done so far:

1) unzip quickstart onto website
2) setup sql database
3) ran installation procedure

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You
Richard

you need to dowload and unzip gk_penguinmail_rest_files_J!16. other modules and plugins you needed for the quickstart is on that file.

Have fun!

jackl - not true...

the quickstart got all components, demodata, joomla. all you need is quickstart ...

earyrichard - extract all files on your webhost, and go to your domain and complete the joomla install... when you need to login afterwood the user/pass is admin/demo

you say you ran the installation procedure, but what happend afterwood? all you need when finishing the installation is delete the install file, and then start playing with it...

There were no errors that appeared during installation. I went ahead and re-installed the plugins after downloading them from the website. Nothing happens if I click on Try It Now or Sign Up For Free. It just reloads the current screen. I get the same results if I login as administrator.

The quickstart was installed in a sub folder on my website. Al though, I wouldn't think that would be an issue. I get the same results on Gavick's demo. However, I figured I had to install the template to see the features of PenguimMail.

My installation is at www.earyproductions.comnewsletter

Any thoughts? What do you click on to access the features? Should I try installing the demo in the root instead of a sub folder? Maybe try version 1.5.

Hi,
I don´t think there is anything wrong in your installation. I think you are misunderstanding the mmeaning of the template. You would expect that "something" is going to happend if you click on "Try it for free" button or "Sign up now" button...

Am i right?

The template is ONLY a theme you can use as an idea, to bulid your own website - so yes, you need additional modules or plugins to have the template work as the theme.

Hope that gives meaning.

Kind regards.
