How to delete PhotoSlide text box/link + deleting empty module spaces

Hello everyone,

My website is www.rm-painters.com. There are two issues that I have come across and not been able to fix:

PhotoSlide
a) How do I resize and/or delete the text box?
b) Can I unlink the image/textbox?

Above articles on my website, as shown in attachment rmp1, there are a lot of spaces that are empty and I would like to delete them(including text resizer). I have been unable to find any settings for these. I used firebug deleted some code to have my website looking like rmp2, but to be honest I do not know what I am doing and if I am not breaking something else.
If all I need to do is add/delete code, is it possible to add or delete individual article/module code? and how?
