Hi,
Is there a solution to the problem loading the photoslide GK3 on the frontpage, when using IE9? All other browsers that i tried, shows it fine, including IE8.

You can see the problem here: http://demo.gavick.com/joomla15/oct2010/

Kind regards

Hi

This is strange. This doesn't supposed to have an effect while site is being oppened the first time ;/

Well, I believe We will see more miracles with IE9.

Hi
When you install IE9 you are asked if you would use "combatibilitisettings" or not. If you (as i) choose NO - you have the problem with Black and White template.
You can turn it on later on in options. As soon you turn it on - the template works fine.

But i guess you are quit right tetibite...we haven´t seen the last issues in IE9. :-)

Have a nice day.
Kin regards

Hi,
It is NOT a problem in the B&W template - it is IE9 where you have to turn compatibility viewing ON - then it works proberbly.
Kind regards.

Hi Guys,

I'm also looking for a fix for this, asking every visitor to the site to put IE9 into compatability mode is not a fix (sorry Florint).

I have a ticket open with Gavick but they tell me that they don't not have Windows 7/IE9 (32 and 64 bit) machines to test on, this issue does not happen with IE9 on Vista.

From testing I think that the problem is nothing to do with the slider but the customisation of the slider in Black & White for J1.5 (J1.6 is also fine).

Turning off "System - Mootools Upgrade" plug causes the same issue in FF4 and FF5 so is not a help:(

So, if anyone has a fix that would be great, I no longer care about IE6 but IE9 I do:pinch:

this issue relates to the version of Mootools, 1.2.4 will not work with IE9, it needs to be upgraded to 1.3.0

So there is no quick fix for this.

You really should take that template off you list until this is fixed as IE9 comes with the new 64bit machines.

Hi

Please check if you have the latest version J!1.5.23.
This problem should be fix with this update.

From my side with J!1.5.23 image show module script runs perfectly on IE9.
Don't matter about our demo template because it still have 1.5.21 version installed (the quickstart package also).

Cheers

the problem is the version of Mootools, my coder told me (at the time) that it would take 12-16 hours work to fix.

If it was me I'd look into the issue that is preventing you from upgrading your core rather than a quick fix to a slider.

mootools_1.2.5.zip

Hi I found this on Google and both fix worked for me in Corperate2 template

Code: Select all
There are 2 ways to fix this problem:

1.Turn off the Mootools upgrade plugin.
If your other modules or templates don’t require extra features of Mootools 1.2 the
easiest way for you to fix this issue is to turn off the Mootools upgrade system
plugin. This will downgrade you to default Mootools 1.12 which works just fine
with IE9.
To do this go to Joomla admin > Extensions > Plugin Manager > Select Type > system.
Find “System – Mootools Upgrade” on the list and disable it.

2.Upgrade to Mootools 1.2.5
If you do require Mootools 1.2 you will need to upgrade to 1.2.5 to fix the issue
with IE9.
Download the new mootools.js file here, unzip and upload it
to ./plugins/system/mtupgrade/

Thanks to ghazal for the fixed Mootools 1.2.5 package for Joomla 1.5.

Nice to know :woohoo:

Cut and paste this into an article, then view the article:

Code: Select all
<script type="text/javascript">
var ver = MooTools.version;
var msg = "You're running MooTools Version: " + ver;
alert(msg);
</script>
