automatic expand text area based to content in home page...

Hi
I have a problem with this template Black & White, the problem is that when I publish a content the area with the space reserved to the content don't expand and many part of the content go outside of the space !

what I can do to solve this problem ?

another question: it's possibile to have a mootool menu on the left side with collapsed voices ?
if yes what I can do ?
