Photoslide images and no Front End Edit

The Photoslide images appear in the code but don't load on the site

mod_gk_image_show settings for MooTools and script have been tested in various combinations with no change.

Anything I'm missing here?

When you login the front end there is no way of editing the content as their is no edit icon (pencil) to click.

Thanks :silly:

I noticed this on some of my installs I'm still trying to work out whats causing it.

Strangely a fresh install of B&W seemed to fix the problem so its an issue coming up somewhere. Possibly relating to the engine JS.

Just fixed my problem by enabling mootools update as per this post:

http://www.gavick.com/forum/95-black-an ... white.html

Strange that some people report not needing it. I need to study whether this will cause any inadvertent other problems.

jeremyo I've commented there but I'm using the default menus, not Ja menus
Don't need typography as I'm not using that either.

When I check the html rendered the images are all in the code but the image loading image is all that appears.
All the image references are ok and load from that html

Hmmm wondering if that is the issue?
I upgraded to the latest version which included a new JS file and the image loader amongst other things.

May go back to the previous version and see if that works

Going to:

Extensions > plugins >

show all > System - Mootools Upgrade

Then Enable this...

seems like the likely fix to your problem as it is identical to the issue i had.

All that other stuff was irrelevant for me.

I´ve got the exact same problem. I installed the quickstart. the original image show worked fine. I added a new slide with a new picture - but the slide wont show it. I changed the permissons on "original", "thumbs-big" and "thumbs-small". still no change.
deleted all the pictures in the folders and deleted the slides. added new slides with new pictures, no change.

Finally found the sucker ... it's the template/gk_blackandwhite/js/gk_image_show.js file that was the issue.

Wrong file size. :silly:

When you login as an Author > Superadmin the "article tools" is a no show.

We have "attachments" component functioning and that component appears but the icon to edit pages you are viewing is a no show

Anyone know how to reactivate it?

I'd love to be able to deactivate it actually, as that would enable some cool group functionality.

Any thoughts

So you can see the image from images/edit_f2.png when you login as a user with publish access?

The attachments component is Attachments for Content Articles

When I login to this page I get to see at the bottom the paperclip and "Add Attachment"

Obviously I'm logged in but the code to view the edit tools, beginning with <div class="article-tools clearfix"> isn't there for some weird reason.

After the 'content heading' the next thing you see is the 'content article' not the 'article tools' ... if all that makes sense :)

Thanks

Can't let the grass grow under our feet. :silly:

Remove the /2011/ and go to domain/index.php

We go live tomorrow so couldn't wait.
All the editing that is normally done via the front end editors has been handed over to the back end managers.

Still needs resolving however
