tab style buttons on main menu alterations?

how do i alter the buttons and add my own? Is it possoble?

When I open the menu_tab_first file in photoshop it is not tranpatent. How do i edit it? can it be done?

it's posibble yes, and photoshop is the way to go...

if you want to save it as a transparant png file in photoshop hit files > save for web, and choose png, and then check off transparant...
