after some investigation... It appears to have to do with the DB

I switch the DB location in the config file in the manual install to the quickstart DB and everything is blank.

does the quick start version require a manual SQL dump?

Also, looking to attempt to manually install - the "mod_gk_register.zip" is missing from the "gk_sporter_rest_files_J!15" zip

hmmm the db shouldn't have any manual dump ... should work "out-of-the-box"

which version are you trying to install?

OK I changed to php5 - the new version works - but it breaks the original install of joomla 1.0.15

OK I got it working - it was a php5 issue

Now I am faced with migrating content items - does sportster use the K2 or standard content

It uses both.
K2 is an extension to joomla functionalities. ;)

I have managed to migrate the content using mtwMigrastor - with the exception of a few issues its working pretty well.

ill sort through those...

Now I am confused as to the "latest Features" which uses Photoslide GK3

it appears that what appears under "latest features" has to be manually inserted - is that the case? (hope not)

love the look of "latest features" via: mod_gk_image_show but manually having to update the contests is not an option since we produce allot of articles per day

is there a way to have the "latest features" sow the most popular or recently added stories?

I was having an issue with a white screen on site side only - disabling 'mootools upgrade' plugin seems to have sorted it out...

Any idea why this would be?

Hi

Have You installed any extentions to the site ? Most probably there were some nasty javascript conflict. But from the other hand I've never seen javascript preventing site from loading ;/ but it's possible in theory.

I have added extensions. The thing is it seems to load sometimes and then other times I just get a white screen... surely if it was a conflict it would not load at all?

Hi

Yes You are right. Please in joomla panel global configuration for server change the error showing level to maximum. Maby if the error massage will display will tell us something.
