Which version of Joomla! are you using? I have had some success with the following extension.

Notice we are even on post counts...;)

Both at 88. Maybe that's a good sign. Chinese believe that 8 is a lucky number. Of course, they also told me the year of the rabbit was going to be a lucky year, and 2/3 of the way into it I'm still not seeing the luck. ;)

I'm using 1.5.23 at the moment. I've been meaning to install a copy of the 1.7 version, remove all of the K2 stuff, and see what that does, since 1.7 has most of the same features. Maybe that will be more efficient. I'll have to check out this extension you mentioned. Thanks, by the way. You are a wealth of knowledge on this stuff. I'm just trying to avoid site-wide caching if I can get away with it because I have news coming in constantly all day from a number of sources, but if I can cache the css, js and certain modules, I think that would be a big help. I tried using IceSpeed to cache the css, but ended up with some funky results so I decided not to use it.

Yes, they told me the same thing about the Rat and I too am waiting for something good to happen...;)

Here is a super cache tool that I know works on 1.5 that you might want to look at first.

As for 1.7 I am developing only for it now and lovin it! I don't think the native article manager is any where near as powerful as K2 but until they get rolling on an update there is only a few other solutions. Although it is not at all bad and really more than enough for what I have been doing don't even think about using it as a blog, it royally sucks for that! Otherwise it will work for most applications without an additional extension to troubleshoot...;)

hey jerry you commented on my site www.govenom.com the other day... i am not using any gavick modules on my site... they are too heavy and cumbersome--- i am using module's exclusively from you tech which are jquery based...

make sure you turn on css compression on the back as well...and try this plugin as well jch optimizer... that should help the the load time

Thanks. I was considering compressing the css, but I thought I saw a thread where someone else had problems with it, so I wanted to wait until I could read up on it more.

I definitely like the job you did with your site. Looks great. I was already familiar with your team too. I see some of the IFL news from time to time on various minor league sites that cover arena/indoor football.
