internet explorer menu problem

the latest version of IE is not showing the shading behind the menu text that is there when viewed in firefox.. What can I do to make sure it works?

otherwise I am going to have to alter design in the area of the menu.

None of IE is showing this. It's simply not supporting the standards of css3.

Please try with that: http://css3pie.com/ It helped me in couple of cases.
