I was hoping that Quick Start would work the same as the Shape 5 templates quick start with the database included so that you get the exact replica of the demo with all modules and components configured with sample images etc...is this the case? If so, where is the database file?
Thanks!

The quickstart is a Joomla installer with the template, demo data and modules combined. You just upload the file to the hosting environment, extract it and do what you would do with a regular joomla installation - job done.

Edit:
Obviously you need to create a sql database and user to connect to with phpmyadmin or sql manager.

You can also edit the "INSERT INTO `#__users` VALUES etc...etc..." line in <root>/installation/sql/mysql/joomla.sql file if you want, to login directly after installation with the admin user and pass you use to use (in case you store names and passwords in your keychain, like I do) so you slip a few extra clicks.

From 3 template providers I am subscribed to, I like the Gavick installer most:) For my taste at least.!

I'm sorry but when you say the sample data is included, do you mean that it should look exactly like the demo? Where is the sql database? Sorry if I am missing something here! I already have Joomla installed with this template but I want it all set up like the demo so that the newspro is configured etc.....

the quickstart comes with sample data yes. also joomla, so you won't need to install joomla first... just the quickstart and your ready...

For several reasons I don't want to reinstall Joomla but I would very much like to get the demo content for a template (Hewahoo) into an existing Joomla instance. Is it possible to do only that with the Quickstart package and do you have any clear instructions how to do it?

Hi

Quickstaert package is prepared so we do not have to set this content manualy. If You cannot use that, maby an option is to install Quickstart somewhere else and copy the content and settings part by part.

Hi

Overwritting the files is not enought. You need to replace the database also. Easier would be to remove all files. Copy quickstart and run joomla installation from the quickstart files. This way when joomla finishes the quickstart's database would also be in place.
