Is there a way to implement a captcha into The World News?

Yes, there's. Just get a plugin on JDE that does that for you, no need to code again.

There's also already made Login Modules with the feature, you can replace the existent by switching positions.

yeah, i have problem like that too, re-captcha not showing in comment fields, but solved now when i change re-captcha to enable in k2-parameter-comments :)
