We do not receive emails from user. But user gets a error message. Also my question: Can I use ANY user as virtuemart shop store owner in the virtuemart configuration? Or must this be the main admin?

Hi

Yes, You can use any user for store.

For mail I would suggest to configure SMTP settings in joomla configuration. Not all servers supports default mail() function.
