Hello - I have purchased and downloaded the Shop & Buy template for Joomla 2.5 and unzipped & transferred the directory into a subdirectory of my own site, created a sql database (empty tho) and corrected the database strings in the config file. I got an error message when accessing the site thru the Joomla admin (install) window, saying I had to remove the installation folder completely before continuing, which I did. I see now that the .sql files are in that directory, so I'm assuming that I have to dump them into my (c-panel) _db_backups folder and then hit 'restore', right? If that's correct, I also need to know which files need to be transferred: there are two folders (mysql and mysqlazure) plus the index.html file in the folder called 'sql'.

Seems like I'm going about something wrong - there was no directions about the database beyond creating one?

Here's the address of the site if useful: http://elizabethlada.com/siliconthermal

Thank you
Elizabeth

If the site is brand new, use QuickStart package instead. Upload it to correct folder on your hosting company, and access it via www. Installation process will start - there you will provide database access and all will install without any problems (if server meets Joomla requirements).

Thanks for the quick reply! I did use the quickstart package, unzipped it and copied all of the folders to the site. You say to access it via www (I assume you mean www.myhosting/myfolder/ right? but when I go there I got the error message to delete the installation folder...My hosting company does have Joomla capability. Can you figure out what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

1. Make sure myfolder is empty before copying any files into it.
2. When you access it via the link - installation should start and ask you about database details etc.
3. Then at the last step question about ramoving installation folder should appear - but You must install it first.

From the things you have written it seems you either copied files to a folder which already had J files inside (configuration.php for certain), or smehow you have putted the files in wrong directory.
