Quickstart package for existing Joomla installation

I'm new to Gavick and would like to install the Quickstart package; however, my site is hosted with a company where Joomla is already installed. Is it just a matter of copying all folders/files to the appropriate locations within my host server (probably not!). And once I install the Quickstart package, can the templates still be customized? Thank you!

Yes, Quickstart is in most cases very helpful but sometimes he is unnecessary.
I suggest to install :
1) Template from our download section
2) Install modules which we used in demo
3) Add your own content (categories/articles)
4) Create a Menus

then you can play with module settings -- not before. Modules show content which is database - if there is nothing - nothing to show!

That's nice, but check if you have current stable version, for example J 2.5.16 or J 3.2.
...but probably you can also install your own Joomla package, copying files/folders using FTP.

or you can use different, for example, localhost solutions ... I suppose that you have at least one book or e-book about Joomla, in first chapters there are always useful informations.

p.s.
But sure, ask ... of course not questions can been found in books or video tutorials /use youtube to learn basics of Joomla/.
