in the template "simplicity" I cant seem to find where you change this avatar? Somewhere in K2? the url for the image is http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/bab33f0b ... 8.jpg?s=86

For your email (used to register your user) you can register gravatar account and set the image there. Joomla, WP and other services uses avatars from gravatar.

I am also having difficulty find out where to edit the avatar in the Simplicity template. Please let us know where we can edit this.

I found it in K2 users. If you are using items and categories. Go to Gravitar.com and change your avatar then delete the one in KS and paste in the link for the one you created on Gravitar.
