:( Hi everybody. I hope my english is good enough. This is my problem:

I have to create a animal database webpage, but i am a bit noob ( or maybe more than a bit).
They give me an excel with all animals, an i think i have to:

1 convert that excel to a MSQL database ( no problemo! ;) )
2 Read that MSQL database with joomla and make an internal Meta-Database Search for that animals. And I have 0 idea of how to do it.

Could you give me ideas or step.to.step guide about how to do it??

HI

This is not an easy task if You have not knowledge of developing a joomla extension :( I think the best idea would be to use an existing module. For example You can make each row of an excel an article (or K2 item) so You will be able to use regular joomla search module (or K2 search module) to filter it. This is the solution which will not require any additional codding, except maybe making a parser to process file to articles, if there is too many rows to make it manually.
